Pelham is known for Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama’s largest state park. The city was incorporated in 1964 and has since been home to over 1 million residents.

Alabama Wildlife Center – The Alabama Wildlife Center is located in Oak Mountain State Park and has a mission to provide rehabilitative care for Alabama’s injured and orphaned native birds and to educate Alabama residents on the native wildlife.

Ballantrae Golf Club – The Ballantrae Golf Club is designed by world-renowned golf course architect Bob Cupp and is known by residents in the area as a ‘fast, fun and friendly’ 18-hole championship public golf course. Visitors can also enjoy the Fireside Grill stocked with a full bar.

Pelham City Schools – The Pelham City School District was formally established in 2014. As of 2018 the district had over 3,00 students enrolled between it’s 2 elementary schools, middle school, and highschool.

Oak Mountain State Park – Located in Pelham, Alabama, Oak Mountain State Park began as a small 940-acre park atop Double Oak Maintain thanks to the State Lands Act of 1927. Since then it has grown to over 9 thousand acres and offers the widest variety of outdoor activities than any other park in the Birmingham area.
