Vestavia Hills is a lively residential community that captures fine southern hospitality. George Ward, mayor of Birmingham from 1905-1909, and 1913-1914, saw the area of what would eventually become the city of Vestavia Hills as “exquisite” and eye-catching due to its ever-changing foliage and magnificent sunsets. Mr. Ward purchased 20 acres of beautifully wooded property on the summit of Shades Mountain and commissioned an architect to design a home for him after the Temple of Vesta. Mr. Ward called his Temple “Vestavia” – the city’s namesake.

Vestavia Country Club – The Vestavia Country Club was originally organized as the Vestavia Hills Golf and Riding Club in 1948 until the summer of 1950 when membership opened to the public. Since its inception, the club has been successful in offering its members a friendly, family oriented atmosphere.

The Urban Center at Liberty Park – The Urban Center is an office park in Vestavia Hills with a 31,000 square foot mixed use development of retail and office space.
